On the final day of play of the Patriot League Women’s Tennis Championships Sunday at Lichtenberg Tennis Center, Army was victorious in two singles flights as Amanda Paluch and Cristina Lucin won the No. 4 and No. 5 singles flights. The Black Knights also claimed one doubles title as Lucin and Marissa Limsiaco were victorious at No. 2 doubles.

Freshmen Paluch and Lucin led five Black Knights into singles finals play on Sunday. Paluch defeated Ashley Retlev of American 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 4 singles final. Lucin cruised past the No. 1 seed, Rheanna Gaskin of Bucknell, in the fifth singles flight 6-2, 6-1. Lucin now stands at 8-1 in singles play this fall.

Entering the day Army had all three No. 1 seeds in doubles play and was able to come away victorious in No. 2 doubles behind Lucin and Limsiaco. The duo handled Lehigh’s team of Jamie Faas and Kristin Mulstay 8-1 in the finals.

Army’s No. 1 doubles team of Annie Collier and Megan Noble won their consolation bracket after falling 9-8 in their first match of the day. The duo posted victories by scores of 8-3 and 8-5 to advance to the consolation bracket title. They stand at 11-2 as a team this fall season.

With the win Collier breaks the Academy’s career doubles record previously held by Elizabeth Scherer (USMA ’99). Collier now stands at 67-42 for her career as a doubles player. The team captain is also only one win away from the record for wins at No. 1 singles and 10 wins away from the career wins tally.
