WEST POINT, N.Y. – The New York Yankees will bring their 2009 World Series championship trophy to West Point on Tuesday, Feb. 9 in recognition of West Point’s support during this past season.

West Point elements such as the Cadet Color Guard, Glee Club, band and soloists have provided support to the Yankees for more than a decade.  This year, the academy had the opportunity to participate in pre-event support for the first ever games in the newly erected Yankee Stadium and take part in the opening games of the playoff series.

The trophy is scheduled to arrive at West Point at 10:30 a.m. and will be introduced to the Corps of Cadets during lunch in the Cadet Mess Hall.  Immediately following, the trophy will be on display in Jefferson Hall for the West Point community from 1-3 p.m.
