WEST POINT SPRING BREAK, CULTURAL IMMERSION – March 15, 2010
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Approximately five groups and four individual cadets will travel to various locations over the academy’s scheduled spring break (March 12-19). These opportunities are designed to provide cadets a unique cultural immersion experience as they prepare to become professional Army officers.
The opportunities vary in connection to an academic course, academy exchange or cadet club event. You may follow their experiences as they blog over the course of the week at Army Strong Stories. To locate the entries, search by name:
Ryan Karohl – Normandy, France, 12 cadets will travel the historical sites and battlefields
Christopher Oblak – Model UN Competition, Taiwan, 30 cadets at world competition
Anderson Kim – French Foreign Legion
Eric Bernau – Scuba team, Egypt
Daniel McGue – History class, Spain, 12 cadets will visit Spanish civil war battlefield Salamanca
Emily Simmons – Foreign Exchange, Tanzania
Charles Christensen – Foreign Exchange, Senegal
Andres Pazmin – Foreign Exchange, Portugal
Matthew Burke – Foreign Exchange, Beijing, China
The foreign exchange visits are made possible through a State Department program and all others are through generous donations to the academy in support of academic development opportunities.
