WEST POINT, N.Y. – Fourteen departments along with students from five other colleges will participate in over 250 presentations during West Point’s annual Projects Day on April 29.
Projects Day has grown each year since its inception in 2000. Senior class members present their thesis, capstone projects, or research activities in either an individual or collective capacity. Students present to fellow cadets, faculty, clients, and in some instances, to a group of guest evaluators. Highlights include the capstone design projects, competition projects, poster displays, video displays, an English department presentation “Academy Idol” and presentations on various topics relevant to the Army and our social world.
The public is invited to attend any and all of the presentations, which are scheduled from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. in various academic buildings throughout the post, including the Arvin Cadet Physical Development Center, West Point Club Ballroom, Mahan Hall, Washington Hall, Thayer Hall, Cullum Hall, Jefferson Hall, Bartlett Hall and Lincoln Hall.
Although students from West Point comprise the largest group of presenters, students from visiting schools have become more pronounced in the event during recent years. This year, students from a variety of schools including Bard College, George Mason University, University of Arkansas, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and Clarkson University are expected.
Schedules for the day’s events are available here: http://www.dean.usma.edu/Projects/
Attendees should enter through Thayer or Stony Lonesome gates. Proper identification will be required upon entering academy grounds and all vehicles are subject to search.
