WEST POINT DAY CELEBRATED IN ALBANY – April 28, 2010

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The New York State Senate and Assembly will honor West Point today with a proclamation from Gov. David A. Patterson proclaiming April 28, 2010 as West Point Day.

The State of New York has honored West Point at the State Capitol annually since 1951.

Commandant of Cadets, Brig. Gen. William Rapp, Cadet First Captain, Tyler Gordy and 12 cadets from the State of New York will represent the academy.

On behalf of the Superintendent, Lt. Gen Buster Hagenbeck, Brig. Gen. Rapp will address the Senate and Assembly, “you continue to provide West Point and the nation with your best sons and daughters. There are almost 300 cadets from New York in the Corps of Cadets who excel everyday.”

West Point graduates from the New York Army National Guard, the West Point Society of the Capitol Region and the West Point Parents’ Club of Upstate New York will also attend.
