WEST POINT, N.Y. –The Cadet Native American Club will host its first Keepers of the Peace powwow here Sunday at the Trophy Point Amphitheater beginning at noon.
Native American dancers from throughout the northeastern United States have been invited to join in the festivities. Several special performances will take place throughout the day to include a birds of prey demonstration at noon and a grand entry of dancers (approx. 20) at 1 p.m. The powwow will conclude at 5 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the program will take place in Gillis Field House
The Keepers of the Peace powwow will showcase Native American heritage and its contribution to the nation. This event offers an opportunity to observe a variety of cultural diversity traditions.
