WEST POINT TO HOST NYS SCIENCE OLYMPIAD FINALS -- March 7, 2008

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- The U.S. Military Academy’s Department of Chemistry and Life Sciences will host the New York State Science Olympiad Tournament Finals here Saturday, March 15, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The Science Olympiad is a series of interscholastic competitions developed to stimulate student interest in the sciences. Approximately 800 students representing 48 high school teams from N.Y. will participate. Several local teams that will be represented include Valley Central, Poughkeepsie, Spackenkill and John Jay-Fishkill.

The top two teams will move on to compete in the National Competition scheduled for May 30-31 at The George Washington University Washington, D.C.

      All visitors are reminded that proper identification is required to access Academy grounds.
