Pet Restrictions regarding certain breed dogs

The following breed dogs are prohibited on post and may not be brought to the installation. Akita, Chow, Doberman, Pit Bull, Rottweiler, American Staffordshire Terriers, English Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Wolf Hybrids or any other breed with dominant traits geared toward aggression. There are no exceptions to this rule.

This is consistent with Balfour Beatty Addendum B: Pet Addendum

HOUSING AT WEST POINT

Residential Communities Initiative (RCI) Office, Bldg 2101, 4th Floor

On August 1st 2008, on post Family housing transitioned to privatized operations under the Army’s RCI program. Balfour Beatty Communities is the West Point privatization partner. Balfour Beatty Communities will perform all the traditional Family housing functions: assignments, terminations, operations and maintenance. In addition, they will renovate most of the houses on West Point and construct new houses in Stony Lonesome I. The RCI Office is responsible for project oversight and asset management and coordination between Balfour Beatty and the West Point Community. Telephone (845) 938-5948/2500.

Housing Services Office (HSO), Bldg 2101, 4th Floor

Incoming military personnel must in-process first through the HSO Office after signing in for duty and in-processing with the Adjutant General’s Office for on post and off post housing (Single Soldier, Sergeant and below, see Single Soldier Housing Office in-processing information below). Personnel will then be referred to the appropriate office for the desired housing, i.e. Balfour Beatty Communities for Family housing on post, HSO Office for off post housing.

The HSO Office provides off-post housing assistance, referrals and information on the local area to military members and their Families and DOD civilians. HSO maintains lists of local community rental properties, as well as information on homes for purchase. Assistance is provided prior to or upon arrival to West Point. Appointments are suggested. Soldiers searching for off-post housing may access the DOD sponsored Automated Housing Referral Network (AHRN) website at www.ahrn.com to obtain rental listings for single family homes, townhouses, condos and apartments in the West Point area. Landlords and property managers can register and list their rentals free of charge on the AHRN site at www.ahrn.com. Soldiers are required to provide the HSO with a copy of their signed lease. Single Soldier Housing Office, Bldg 652, Rm 101

Single Soldiers, Sergeant and below, are required to live in the Single Soldiers Barracks, Bldg 620, Military Police Company and Bldg 624, Warrior Transition Unit, HHC, 2nd Aviation and the Medical Company. Single Soldiers, Sergeant and below, are required to in-process with the Single Soldier Housing Office located in Bldg 652, Room 101. Telephone (845) 938-7699/6202.

There are no BOQ, SOQ or SEQs spaces available at West Point. Soldiers in the grades of Staff Sergeant and above who collect BAH at the without dependent rate, to include those designated Key and Essential, are required to live off post. Single Soldiers and bonafied bachelors Staff Sergeant and above are required to in-process with the Housing Services Office (see above) located in Bldg 2101, 4th Floor.

Temporary Housing - Guest House and Hotel/Motel Accommodations

Soldiers should plan to stay in temporary housing such as the Five Star Inn (lodging facility) or a local hotel/motel, while either waiting for on post housing or locating housing off post. Reservations for the Five Star Inn may be made by telephoning 1-800-GO-ARMY1 or (845) 446-5943. Pets are not allowed at the lodging facility; however, arrangements for boarding may be made by telephoning the Morgan Farm Kennel at (845) 938-3926.
