USMAPS FOOTBALL PICKS UP ITS FIRST VICTORY
AGAINST RPI JV
The

RPI JV with a score of 30 – 0. The defense held strong all
game not allowing RPI to score one point in their own
stadium. Big hit defensive players included CC Jaylen
Rosales who recorded two sacks as well as CC Taylor Andrews
who had an interception for a touchdwon. CCs Alex Meier and
Tyler Mclees were also big hit players of the game with
their various tackles for loss and special teams big hits.
As
for the offense, CCs A.J. Schurr and Ja’Quail Haskins both
scored with CC Dan Grochowski also good for a field goal. In
this game CC Haskins notched a pair of scores under his belt
off the pitch of quarterback, CC Kelvin White.
The

USMAPS DEFEATED BY MILFORD ACADEMY IN HARD
FOUGHT CONTEST
The
USMAPS Football team lost to Milford Academy 40 – 24. The
offense started out strong with a 30+ yard touchdown run
from CC Marcus Poling and the defense answered back with an
interception for a touchdown by CC Tyler McLees. CC Dan
Grochowski also nailed a 30+ yard field goal late in the
first quarter as well. CC Kelvin White also ran one score in
off a turnover resulting from a punt from CC Alex Tardieu.
Defensive standout, CC Dalton Mendenhall, also made a huge
play late in the first half while diving to strip the
Milford Quarterback. Milford recovered the ball however with
a loss of 20+ yards on the play.
Though as the game wore on, USMAPS suffered crucial injuries
across both sides of the ball which allowed Milford to creep
back in and gain the lead for the first time early in the
4th quarter, and after two lucky deep touchdown
passes, Milford took and maintained the score of 40 – 24.
Army Prep will look for revenge this next weekend as it
travels to Pennsylvania this Sunday to take on King’s
College JV team, a game that had been rescheduled due to the
flooding from the recent storms.
Until

USMAPS picked up another victory
USMAPS picked up another victory against King’s College JV
with a score of 45 – 0. Scoring quickly and maintaining a
steady lead, the offense was prolific this game with scores
from CCs JaQuail Haskins, Jared Rogers, Kelvin Hockenbraugh-White
and Maurice Shoemaker. CC Shoemaker scored again on special
teams as well after a King’s College fumble on their kickoff
return.
Equally as impressive as the attacking offense, the defense
managed to hold King’s College to a shut out, leaving King’s
College with less than 100 yards of total offense. Defensive
standouts and big hit players included CCs Dan Muenzer and
Tyler McLees; King’s College JV running backs and returners
were happy to see them go.
The
team would like to thank all for your support and ask that
you please stay tuned for this next weekend as USMAPS goes
up against Globe JC at Shea Stadium @1PM !

USMAPS football team trounced
Globe Institute
This past Saturday the USMAPS
football team trounced Globe Institute with a score of
49-20. Even after the parade on Friday, the offense
continued to march down the field scoring at will. Offensive
standouts included CCs Luke Proulx, Dylan Anderson, Gregg
Rabb and Jared Rogers who all scored touchdowns. CC Maurice
Shoemaker led the Army backfield earning a pair of scores as
well. Wide receiver CC Drew Ellerson also had a long
reception from fellow wide receiver CC DeAndre Bell to
disrupt the Globe defense! At the spearhead of this
offensive attack, linemen CCs Jake Peterson and Justin
Gilbert battled both at line and downfield all game long.
Battling a very emotional
opponent the defense also held the parade field, limiting
Globe to only 20 points. Defensive standouts from this game
include CC Cortland Fort who intercepted a Globe pass
literally single-handedly, CC Brent Hill who intercepted a
pass for a touchdown, CC Taylor Andrews with an interception
on the sideline and also CC Dwayne Randall with an
interception to close out the game.
After the decisive battle in
the classroom over 1st Quarter Grades, the team
looks forward to its upcoming challenge of Valley Forge
Military Academy this Saturday, and hopes to continue its
march of victory. Thank you all for your time and support
this past weekend!

Army Prep Football team
destroyed Valley Forge Military Academy
This
past weekend your Army Prep Football team destroyed Valley
Forge Military Academy 34 - 14 this past weekend. The
defense set the tone for the game opening up with a huge
stop against its triple option opponent. Key defensive plays
were made by CCs Dalton Mendenhall and Gavin Maher who each
sacked the quarterback. CC Maher also caused a turnover
through stripping the other team’s quarterback. CC Chris
Carnegie also was a defensive standout with stalwart
backfield play and lock-down pass coverage.
I
would be remised if I did not praise our special teams as
well. Kicker CC Dan Grochowski nailed a pair of field goals
in extreme winds as well as CC Alex Tardieu had a 50+ yard
punt into upwards of 25 mph gusts.
While
taking a few bumps and bruises along the way, the offense
had a stellar performance as well. CC AJ Schurr scored a
pair of touchdowns as well as CCs Maurice Shoemaker and
Marcus Poling each scoring one throughout the game. CC Corey
Hobbs lead the offensive line play dominating the Valley
Forge defensive front.
The
team would like to thank you all for your continued support
throughout this season. We look forward to bring news of
another win after this weekend as the Army Prep Team takes
on the Farleigh Dickinson JV team.

The
Army Prep team trounced the Farliegh Dickinson JV squad with
a score of 49 – 0. The defense was swarming all afternoon as
they barely allowed more than two first downs for the entire
game. Defensive standouts included CCs JT Trompke, Jesse
Tuivaiave and Justin Fahn who all secured tackles for loss.
The defensive player of the game was defensive captain CC
Alex Meier who grabbed two interceptions for two separate
scores throughout the first half.
Equally impressive was the offense’s ability to attack
throughout the game. The offense had a long list of scores
with CC Kevin O’Brien, Kelvin Hockenbraugh-White, A.J.
Schurr and Maurice Shoemaker each getting in the end zone.
CCs Nick Lewandowski and Lee Scott also helped bring about
sustained offensive drives, deep into enemy territory.

Culminating the season with a
victory, your Army Prep Football team defeated Navy Prep
this past weekend 34 – 28. Trailing by 14 points early off
in the game, the defense rallied in the end of the second
quarter to slow down Navy’s high scoring triple option
offense. Key defensive players included CC TJ Atimalala,
Jonas Niusulu, Justin Fahn, Tyler McLees and Dan Muenzer.
Despite a few early mishaps, the team was able to defeat the
triple option to include two huge 4th down stops late in the
fourth quarter.
The offense played hungry throughout
the entirety of the game, scoring three times and earning a
fourth quarter first down to seal the game. Scoring players
included CC Dylan Anderson and AJ Schurr who scored a two.
Additional offensive standouts included CC Matt Hugenberg
and Tryone Brown with their stellar line play and domination
of the Navy defensive linemen.
Most notably however was the special
teams play exhibited by kicker CC Dan Growchowski and CC
Marcus Poling. Kicking into severe winds, CC Growchowski
finished the day off two for two in field goals. CC Marcus
Poling also scored a 40+ yard touchdown off of a fake punt.
At the conclusion of the season with
a record of 8-2, the Army Prep football team would like to
thank all staff and faculty for their support throughout the
season. We could not have been as successful without all of
your support!
