
Head Men’s Basketball Coach
Justin Jennings
Justin Jennings was hired as Head Men’s Basketball Coach in
April 2011. He comes to West Point after a three year stint as
Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Carnegie Mellon University.
Jennings joined the CMU coaching staff in 2008-09 and
immediately made an impact in his first season as the Tartans
advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Division III
Championship Tournament. He was instrumental in opponent
preparation and helping the Tartans to their first-ever NCAA
postseason victory. Jennings’ duties also included serving as
the program’s recruiting coordinator, overseeing the strength
and conditioning program and video analysis.
Jennings came to Carnegie Mellon from Penn State Behrend where
he served as the men’s assistant coach for two seasons. During
the 2007-08 season, Jennings helped the Lions earn a bid to the
NCAA Division III Tournament for the fourth time in school
history and their second most successful season. The Lions
advanced to the second round of the NCAAs.
Prior to Jennings’ two-year coaching stint with Behrend, he was
a four-year starter at point guard for the Lions. He finished
his career as the third all-time leader in assists with 322.
While at Behrend, Jennings led the Lions to a school-record 81
wins, including two NCAA and two ECAC appearances.
A native of Cranberry Township, Pa. and a 2002 graduate of
Seneca Valley High School, Jennings received his bachelor’s
degree in Communications from Penn State Behrend in 2006 and
earned his MBA from Behrend in May 2008.
