LTC Alex Katauskas was commissioned in 2002 upon graduation from the United States Naval Academy with a B.S. in Economics. He served as a platoon leader in the 3-509th Airborne Infantry Battalion, afterwards serving as the Rear Detachment Commander and the Battalion S-1. He then deployed as a intelligence advisor on a military transition team in Iraq. Following that he served as an intelligence analyst at the National Ground Intelligence Center. Afterwards, he served as an instructor in the Physics & Nuclear Engineering Department at the U.S. Military Academy. Then he served as an operations officer at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. LTC Katauskas is a graduate from the Infantry Officer Basic Course, the Military Intelligence Captain's Career Course, the Nuclear Counterproliferation Officer Course, and Airborne School.
