Overview

The West Point Company Athletics Program is an intra-collegiate sports program that provides a competitive sports experience for over 2,400 cadets. The Corps of Cadets is divided into four regiments, each containing three battalions of three companies. Each company creates a team for each of the Spring and Fall sports. Company Athletics is more than a recreational release for cadets, it's an educational program designed to develop future Army officers. By design, it cultivates mental toughness and instills a “never quit” attitude as two companies compete on “the fields of friendly strife.”  The name “Company Athletics” serves as a reminder that this is an athletics program committed to teaching the Army values, cultivating the warrior ethos, and instilling pride in the military culture. This is not your typical “intramural” program at a civilian university.

“Upon the fields of friendly strife are sown the seeds that, upon other fields, on other days, will bear the fruits of victory.” - General Douglas MacArthur

A warrior athlete of character is a team player who combines mental toughness, perseverance, and athletic skill with exemplary sportsmanship and fair play. The warrior athlete of character has a teachable spirit and demonstrates the drive, will, and courage to stay committed and succeed, regardless of the challenge.
