Biography
Stephen Finn serves as the Director for the Center for Faculty Excellence as part of the Dean’s Staff. He is an Associate Professor who teaches Philosophy and Ethical Reasoning and also the Philosophy of Religion. He was the Associate Director of Faculty Excellence at West Point 2009 to 2022. Prior to coming to West Point, he taught philosophy at Seattle University from 2000 to 2009. His research interests include modern philosophy (specifically the philosophy of Thomas Hobbes), philosophy of sports, and teaching ethics. He lives in Chappaqua, NY, with his wife and two sons. He is also a 5-time national champion in the sport of ultimate Frisbee and is the coach of the cadet ultimate team.
