Mrs. Pettis was commissioned via OCS in Quantico, VA in 1998, and was assigned the MOS of Adjutant (Admin Officer) after The Basic School.  She deployed numerous times with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force's and Marine Expeditionary Unit's to include a deployment to Iraq.  She left active duty in 2011 and completed reserve time to retire from the Marine Corps in 2018.
