MAJ Daniel Filcik graduated from USMA in 2010 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and commissioned as an Engineer Officer. After completing BOLC he served as a Platoon Leader in 87th Sapper Company, 8th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, followed by serving as the Forward Support Company Executive in the same battalion. Afterwards, he was assigned as an Assistant S-3 in HHC, 8th Engineer Battalion. Following ECCC, he served as the Battalion Chief of Operations for 37th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, followed by becoming the forward Battalion Executive Officer of the same battalion. After his time in 82nd Airborne Division, he transitioned to become a Network Systems Engineer Officer (FA26A). His last operational assignment was as the Network Systems Engineer for the Cyber Technology Evaluation and Aggregated Labs (CTEAL), Mission Engineering Directorate, Information Systems Engineering Command (ISEC). He deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom XI and XIII, as well as Operation Inherent Resolve. MAJ Filcik is a graduate from the Engineer Basic Officer Leader Course, the Engineer Captains Career Course, the Network Systems Engineer Course, the Joint C4 Planners Course, Air Assault School, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, and Ranger School.
