
MAJ David G. Fobar

MAJ Dave Fobar is radiation detection-minded Nuclear and Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (FA52) officer. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the United States Military Academy (USMA), a Master of Science in engineering management from the University of Missouri Science and Technology, and a Master of Science in nuclear engineering from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.
Upon commissioning, MAJ Fobar served as an Infantry Lieutenant in 1st Brigade “Bastogne” 101st Airborne Division, including a deployment to Afghanistan. He then switched to the Engineer branch upon reaching the rank of Captain and deployed to Liberia with the 36th Engineer Brigade “Rugged” in 2015 in support of Operation United Assistance. He also served as the Brigade HHC Commander for the 85th Civil Affairs Brigade “Warrior Diplomats."
Following time at the University of Michigan, MAJ Fobar served as an assistance professor in USMA's Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering. He is originally from Dearborn Heights, MI, and his wife is from Helena, MT. They have two boys, Garrett and Lincoln, who happily keep them busy.
