THE MISSION
The West Point Women’s Team Handball club is a competitive club that is committed to helping cadets develop into strong, life-long leaders for the Army and the nation through the sport of Team Handball. This Olympic sport requires strong, physical contact along with intimate teamwork and quick decision making under pressure to defend against the attacks of the opposing team and then create openings while on offensive attack to score. The vast majority of players on the opposing teams are foreign nationals who have played handball most of their lives, so the cadets are challenged to be quick and adaptive as they learn a new sport. The basic athletic skills that are needed to do well in the sport are throwing and catching a ball, slightly smaller than a soccer ball, running, and quick one-on-one moves along with communication with team mates. Typically, we win the annual USA Team Handball Collegiate National Championship.div>
