About

LTC Jonas Anazagasty is a career Infantry Officer with over 21 years of service in various Airborne, Mechanized, and training units.  His duty stations include Ft. Richardson, Alaska; Ft. Stewart, GA; Washington, D.C.; Ft. Bragg, NC; Ft. Benning, GA; and West Point.  LTC Anazagasty served in key and developmental positions as a Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Battalion Logistics Officer, HHC Company Commander, Infantry Rifle Company Commander, Battalion Operations Officer, Battalion Executive Officer, and Battalion Commander for the 4th Ranger Training Battalion at Ft. Benning, GA.  He also served in several broadening assignments as a:  Interagency Fellow for the Bureau of Diplomatic Security Service with the Department of State; Chief of Operations in U.S. Army Special Operations; Executive Officer to the Commanding General for XVIII ABN Corps and CJTF – OIR; and 3rd Regimental Tactical Officer in the U.S. Corps of Cadets at West Point.  He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School, Special Forces Combat Divers Qualification Course, Bradley Leaders Course, and the U.S. Army Jump Master Course. His awards and decorations include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, and the Master Parachutist Badge.  He is a 1998 graduate of USMAPS, a 2002 graduate of the United States Military Academy, and has a master’s degree in international development policy from Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy.  He is married with a 13-year-old daughter and 9-year-old identical twin girls.
