LTC Evelyn Kempe commissioned as a 2LT Ordnance officer in 2002 through the ROTC at Georgia State University. She served as a platoon leader and a S-1 in 18th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Afterwards, she commanded a logistic company out of Fort Riley, Kansas under 1st Infantry Division. She became a Functional Area 24, Network Engineer in 2009, and was assigned to headquarters G-6 in 3rd Infantry Division.  She deployed with 3rd ID to Iraq in support of Operation New Hope and New Dawn, working as the Divisions network engineer, providing network support for 3rd ID tactical footprint in Iraq in 2010. After 3rd ID, she joined US Army Cyber Commands G-3 as part of their Enterprise Network Division, overseeing strategic and tactical network connectivity in support of global operations within the US Army cyber domain.  LTC Kempe was then assigned to the White House Communications Agency(WHCA) as their Senior Network Engineer in charge of special projects and IT support for the President of the United States under the Obama Administration. After WHCA, she transitioned over to the Joint Spectrum Center as their Cybersecurity Team lead, overseeing their cybersecurity posture in support of DISA global joint spectrum mission.
