Biography


A native of New York City, MAJ Alex De Rosa graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.  He commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Aviation branch. Upon graduation from flight school in 2011 as a UH-60 pilot, he served with the 3-158 AHB in Katterbach, Germany, as an Executive Officer, Flight Platoon Leader, Battalion Assistant Operations Officer, and Liaison Officer until 2015. He deployed to Afghanistan from 2012-13 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  

After graduating from the Aviation Captain's Career Course in October 2015, MAJ De Rosa reported to Camp Humphreys, Korea, where he first served as the Brigade Battle Captain. He then commanded C/2-2 AHB, a UH-60 Air Assault company, at Seoul Airbase, until June 2017. Following company command, MAJ De Rosa served as Assistant Operations Officer in the US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) at Redstone Arsenal, AL, from 2017-18.  

He then attended Columbia University from 2018-20, graduating with a Masters in International Affairs with International Security Policy concentration and Middle East regional specialization.  MAJ De Rosa's military education includes the Aviation Officer's Basic Course, SERE-C, Flight School XXI (UH-60L), the Aviation Captain's Career Course (honor graduate). His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (2), Army Commendation Medal (2), Army Achievement Medal (1), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO ISAF medal, and the Army Aviator badge.
