Biography


Captain David Frye graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2010. He majored in Political Science and commissioned as an Adjutant General Officer who was branch detailed to the Armor branch. Captain Frye has served as airborne Platoon Leader, German Liaison Officer Squadron and Brigade S1 and ROTC instructor. He has deployed to Logar Province, Afghanistan in 2012-2013 in support of Operation Enduring Resolve where he served as a Platoon Leader and he deployed as a Squadron S1 to Nineveh Province, Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve in 2016-2017. As an ROTC Instructor, he trained and mentored Cadets at the University of Hawaii. Captain Frye attended graduate school at the University of Alabama – Tuscaloosa where he earned a Master of Arts degree in German. In January 2021 he was assigned as an Instructor of German at the US Military Academy at West Point. Some of Captain Frye’s awards and decorations include: Combat Action Badge, Army Parachutist’s Badge, Air Assault Badge, the Basic Army Instructor Badge, two Bronze Star Medals, and multiple Army Commendation Medals and the German Parachute Badge. Captain Frye lives with his wife and child in West Point, NY.
