MAJ John Georg Instructor of German Desk Chief john.georg@westpoint.edu Biography MAJ John Georg graduated from The George Washington University, Washington D.C. in 2006 and entered the Field Artillery Branch. In 2009 then CPT Georg deployed to Iraq as a Brigade level Military Transition Team Advisor. Upon returning from deployment CPT Georg transferred to the Military Intelligence Branch and received additional certifications as a Counterintelligence Special Agent. In 2012, CPT Georg took command of an MI company in Ft. Bragg, NC. Next he deployed as a Cavalry Squadron S2 to Kosovo to support the NATO Peacekeeping mission in EUCOM’s Area of Responsibility. Next CPT Georg PCSed to Ramstein, Germany where he commanded a NATO counterintelligence detachment. After promotion to MAJ, he PCSed to Army South, Joint Base San Antonio, where he worked in the G2 focused on South American, Central American, and Caribbean requirements for SOUTHCOM. Next, MAJ Georg worked as a MI Battalion S3 and then XO in San Antonio, TX. While working in San Antonio he earned his master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, OK. MAJ Georg lives in the West Point area with his wife, Christine and two children, Charlotte and Matthew.
