Noah Currie

Instructor of French



Captain Noah T. Currie graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2013 and received a BS in French. Upon graduation, he commissioned as an Infantry Officer and served in Infantry and Cavalry units in South Korea, Afghanistan and across the United States. He earned an MS in Organizational Leadership from Columbus State University in 2018, before commanding an Air Assault Infantry Company within the 101st Airborne Division. Prior to his return to the United States Military Academy as an instructor, Captain Currie earned an MA in French and Francophone Studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2023. Throughout his service, Captain Currie also had the privilege to compete in the 2017 Army Best Ranger Competition, serve as a translator for the 75th D-Day Anniversary in Normandy, France, and train with members of the French Army, Foreign Legion and Gendarmes. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation and Achievement Medals, and he is a member of the Order of Saint Maurice. Some of his formal military training includes Ranger, Air Assault and Airborne Schools along with recognition at the level of Monitor with Instructor Aptitude in the French Commando course and as the Distinguished Honor Graduate of the Infantry Mortar Leaders Course. As an instructor of French, Captain Currie was recognized by the University of Notre Dame’s Graduate School as the honorable mention for Graduate Student Teaching Excellence in 2023. Captain Currie resides at West Point, New York with his wife, Maggie, and their four children Christopher, John Paul, Jane and Zélie.
