50-YEAR AFFILIATION

The 50-Year Affiliation Program

The Class Affiliation Program, managed by the West Point Association of Graduates, began in 1999 when Class of 1949 members presented the class with engraved 2nd Lieutenant bars in celebration of their graduation and commission into officership.

The spirit of this gesture has expanded over the years and now includes eight milestone events that encourage the attendance of the 50-year affiliates at Reception and Acceptance Day, Class Crest Unveiling, Yearling Flag Ceremony, Affirmation, Ring Weekend, Branch Night, and Commencement.

These opportunities strengthen the ties between the generations providing an everlasting bond in their devotion to West Point and their commitment to service to our great nation.
