Biography


MAJ Jonathan Curran graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2012 with a degree in History. He commissioned into the Infantry and was assigned to 2nd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley. At Fort Riley, he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer, deploying once in support of Operation Enduring Freedom — Horn of Africa and once in support of Operation Spartan Shield. MAJ Curran attended the Maneuver Captains’ Career Course in 2016 and proceeded 3rd Brigade, 82d Airborne at Fort Bragg (known as Fort Liberty since 2023). After serving at the Brigade and Battalion levels, he assumed command of an airborne heavy weapons Company and deployed in support of Operations Freedom’s Sentinel and Resolute Support. MAJ Curran graduated from George Washington University in 2022 with a Master of Arts in History and currently serves in the Military Division of the Department of History. He is married to Natalie with one daughter, Cecilia, and one son, Thomas.
