Major Joe Clegg graduated as an Armor Officer from the United States Military Academy in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Defense and Strategic Studies. His first duty station was Fort Carson, CO where he served with 4th Squadron, 10th U.S. Cavalry, 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division. He held the positions of HHT XO, Platoon Leader, and Apache Troop XO. As a Platoon Leader he deployed to Jordan in support of Operation Spartan Shield. Following Fort Carson, Major Clegg moved to Fort Moore, GA where he served as the Executive Officer for B CO, 1-46IN, 194th AR BDE, and Commander of E CO, 1-46IN, 194th AR BDE. Following MCCC, Major Clegg was assigned to 1st Squadron, 75th U.S. Cavalry, 2nd BCT, 101st ABN DIV (AASLT). There, he served as an Assistant S3 where he deployed to Morocco in support of African Lion, and Ukraine as part of the Joint Multinational Training Group- Ukraine (JMTG-U). Additionally, MAJ Clegg had the opportunity of commanding Bone Troop, 1-75 CAV, and HHT, 1-75 CAV. Most recently, MAJ Clegg earned a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University in 2022 and was assigned to the faculty at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York where he assumed his current responsibilities in the Department of Physical Education.
