
MAJ JC Fernandes is a Cyber officer and Research Scientist in the Army Cyber Institute. He commissioned as an infantry officer in 2012 from the United States Military Academy with a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences and Computer Science. His first assignment was in Vicenza, Italy with the 173rd IBCT(A) where he served as a platoon leader and assistant S4 in 2-503rd IN BN. While serving with the 173rd, MAJ Fernandes conducted operational deployments in eastern Europe. After transferring to the Cyber branch in 2016, he served as a CND Manager, BN Analytic Support Officer, and Company Commander within the Cyber Protection BDE at Fort Gordon, GA.
MAJ Fernandes is a graduate of Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, Cyber Captain’s Career Course, Airborne School, and Ranger School. He earned a MS in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and various cybersecurity related certifications.
