He commissioned into the Engineer Regiment and was assigned to the Fort Richardson, Alaska where he served as a Platoon Leader in the 6th Brigade Engineer Battalion (Airborne). Most recently, he commanded an Engineer Company in the 127th Brigade Engineer Battalion (Airborne) in the 1st Brigade Combat Team of the 82nd Airborne Division.
