Rich Crockett is a Major in the U.S. Army and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Major Crockett graduated from West Point in 2009, began his career as an Armor Officer, and served as a platoon leader and company executive officer in the 25th Infantry Division. Selected for the Army’s Funded Legal Education Program, he graduated from William & Mary Law School in 2015 and transferred into the Judge Advocate General’s Corps.

His assignments as a judge advocate include: Deputy Chief of National Security Law, U.S. Army Pacific; Battalion Judge Advocate, 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne); Administrative Law Attorney, 4th Infantry Division; and Trial Counsel (prosecutor), 3d Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. He deployed to Iraq in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and NEW DAWN and to Afghanistan in support of Operations FREEDOM’S SENTINEL and RESOLUTE SUPPORT.

Major Crockett holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with Highest Honors from Columbia Law School, an LL.M. in Military Law from the Judge Advocate General’s School, a Juris Doctor from William & Mary Law School, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
