Major Henken is a Legal Advisor in the Royal Netherlands Air Force and a 2011 graduate of the Royal Military Academy in Breda. After his commission in the Air Force Major Henken served as an Air Battle Manager at “Bandbox” Air Control Squadron between 2011 and 2020, also holding a position as an instructor. After completing his law study in 2017, for which he received a LL.M. from Amsterdam Law School, he transitioned into the Air Force Legal Services. Major Henken previously served as a Legal Advisor at NATO’s Combined Air Operations Centre in Uedem, Germany. Furthermore, in 2022,  Major Henken was deployed to Bamako, Mali as part of  the UN mission MINUSMA as Chief of Staff of the 1 (NLD) C-130 detachment.

Major Henken works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Law where he will teach, inter alia, Law of War for Commanders (LW 474), participate in cadet summer training and co-direct events.
