Cadets in this minor can experience the Chinese language and culture through films, cuisine, or trip sections in the Chinese Forum. Cadets can also apply to spend a semester abroad in Taiwan, at either Fu Jen University or National Tsinghua University or experience and summer Advanced Individual Academic Development (AIAD) Program in Chinese-speaking areas such as Taiwan, Singapore or China. Cadets may also apply to attend the Taiwanese version of Airborne School as a Military Individual Advanced Development (MIAD) East Asia Track Cadets who choose the Foreign Area Studies: East Asia major are not allowed to choose this minor. Cadets can also apply for a Military Individual Advanced Development (MIAD) in Chile to take part in the Chilean Mountain Warfare School. Eurasia Track Cadets who choose the Foreign Area Studies: Eurasia major are not allowed to choose this minor. Cadets in this minor may enrich their experience through interaction with the Persian and/or Russian Forums where they can learn about language and culture through trip sections and other activities. Cadets in this minor can also pursue immersion or summer Advanced Individual Academic Development (AIAD) Programs in placed like Latvia, Georgia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, or Uzbekistan. Cadets can also apply for a Military Individual Advanced Development (MIAD) in the NATO-accredited Georgian Mountain Training School in the Caucasus Mountains.
