Biography

COL Joe Lindquist serves as a Professor of Applied Mathematics in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at West Point. COL Lindquist's previous assignments and positions include serving as the Director of the Core Math Program, Senior Analyst at the Center for Army Analysis, where he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan and the Philippines) , and various command, staff, and platoon leader positions as an Army Military Police Officer. He has co-authored dozens of refereed journal articles, conference papers, technical reports, and textbook chapters. He holds a patent for work in the field of Natural Language Processing conducted with his talented colleagues at IBM in 2022 while on an Academic Operational Experience. He is the recipient of the Military Operations Research Society's Stephen A. Tisdale (2004) and the Wayne P. Hughes (2012) Award, was awarded the Director's Award for Excellence at the Center for Army Analysis (Analytic Team 2010, Individual Analyst 2011) and was recently presented the Dean's Award for Scholarship Excellence (2023).
