Biography


MAJ Joseph B. Maxwell is the Course Director for MA255 – Advanced Multivariable Calculus. His previous assignments include aide de camp to the USACE Mississippi Valley Division Commander MG (Ret.) Mark Toy at Vicksburg, MS; commander of Bravo Company, 31st Engineer Battalion (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Project Engineer at USACE Los Angeles District; and PL/XO at 58th Combat Engineer Company (OPFOR) at Fort Irwin, CA. He studied chemical and industrial engineering at Auburn University (2012) and received his M.S. in mathematics and statistics from Georgetown University (2022). His research interests include computer vision and pedagogy. He is a member of the Army Engineer Association, a Project Management Professional, and a recipient of the Steel de Fleury Award.

Contested Multimodal Logistics - undergraduate capstone project that generates logistics routes along multimodal paths that minimize risk.
Improving Feedback Methods - pedagogical research into the best practices for presenting feedback from instructors to students after assignments.
