Biography
Dr. Rachelle DeCoste is a professor of mathematics. She first taught at West Point in 2004-2007. Then she was a professor at Wheaton College in MA. Dr. DeCoste has taught a wide variety of mathematics courses, including a Geometry class with digital fabrication. She enjoys engaging with students in class and in mathematical research. Dr. DeCoste has published papers in Differential Geometry, in particular most of her work has considered the density of closed geodesics on manifolds arising from Lie groups and algebras. Through these objects she has been able to combine her love of algebra and geometry. Throughout her career, Dr. DeCoste has actively worked to increase the diversity of the mathematics community. She had created programs focused on inclusion in math, and STEM, more broadly.
