MAJ Matt A. Young is an Instructor in the Department of Systems Engineering. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Information Science & Systems from Morgan State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from George Mason University.
MAJ Young commissioned as a Signal Officer in 2012. He served as a Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in the 50th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, Division Network Officer in the 82nd Airborne Division, and the Battalion Signal Officer for the 1-508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team while stationed at Ft. Liberty, NC (formally known as Ft. Bragg, NC).
After completing the Captain’s Career Course, MAJ Young served as a Battalion Signal Officer for 4th Brigade Support Battalion, Squadron Signal Officer for 2nd Squadron, 1st U.S. Cavalry Regiment, and later served as the Company Commander of C/299th Brigade Engineer Battalion while assigned to the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Ft. Carson Colorado. He is a graduate of Airborne School and is CompTIA Security + (Plus) certified. MAJ Young deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
