Michael was born in Twin Falls, Idaho. Grew up in the deserts of Utah, Nevada, and Idaho. Graduated High School in Green Bay, WI. He spent two years in Paraguay on a religious mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints before he returned to Utah State University where he met his wife, Melissa James, and joined the Army ROTC program. They got married in 2007. They have four sons together, Aidyn, Samuel, Joshua, and Jacob. Michael branched Engineers and completed BOLC in 2012 after which he was assigned to BSTB/1ABCT/2ID Camp Hovey, Korea. Michael returned to Fort Leonard Wood to be a BOLC instructor and commanded HHC/1EN BDE. After command he VTIPed into FA52, and is now a Nuclear Counterproliferation Officer. Michael holds two Masters Degrees, one in Engineering Management and the other in Mathematics.
