Biography
MAJ David Fobar is radiation detection-minded Nuclear and Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (FA52) officer. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Missouri Science and Technology in 2014 with a Masters in Science in Engineering Management, and from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor in 2018 with a Masters in Science in Nuclear Engineering. Upon commissioning, MAJ Fobar served as an Infantry lieutenant in 1st Brigade “Bastogne” 101st Airborne Division, including a deployment to Afghanistan. He then switched to the Engineer branch upon reaching the rank of CPT and deployed to Liberia with the 36th Engineer Brigade “Rugged” in 2015 in support of Operation United Assistance. MAJ Fobar also served as the Brigade HHC Commander for the 85th Civil Affairs Brigade “Warrior Diplomats”. Following time at the University of Michigan, MAJ Fobar served as an assistance professor in the Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering at the United States Military Academy, West Point. MAJ Fobar is originally from Dearborn Heights, MI and his wife is originally from Helena, MT. They have two boys, Garrett and Lincoln, who happily keep them busy.
