Biography
MAJ Nathan Jones received his commission as a Military Intelligence officer from the Claremont-McKenna ROTC program in 2010 while also earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College at the same time. Over the course of his nearly 14-year Army career he has had the opportunity to serve with the 501st MI Brigade, the 10th Mountain Division, and the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) as (collectively) company executive officer, Battalion S2, Brigade/Group Assistant S2, and MI Detachment Commander. He has deployed to Afghanistan and Chad and is a graduate of Airborne School, Ranger School, and the MI Captain's Career Course. MAJ Jones earned a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2020. He is currently an Assistant Professor for the Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering and will be teaching Physics 1 (PH201) in AY24. He has previously worked in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and has taught Cyber Fundamentals (CY105), Digital Logic with Embedded Systems (EE360), Basic Electrical Engineering (EE350), and Computer Architecture (EE375). Nathan has been happily married and has two children.
