The Center for Environmental and Geographic Sciences (CEGS) facilitates, supports, and champions a research program in environmental engineering and science and the geographic sciences to enhance the education of Cadets and develop Faculty professionally, while addressing the most important and complex challenges facing our Army and the Nation.
As the research arm of the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering, CEGS:
LEVERAGING INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL. Curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork are integral to our culture of learning as the Army's intellectual engine. Our Cadets and Faculty represent one of the highest concentrations of intellectual capital in the Army, which we leverage within our innovation ecosystem to prepare and solve the most important and complex problems that face our Army and the Nation. Many times, these opportunities present themselves in concert with Summer Internship opportunities to connect greater learning and understanding from the classroom and lab with its resulting real-world application.
CONNECTING INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL. Our cadets and faculty, with CEGS' support, have proven success through partnerships and collaboration that connect our intellectual capital to key leaders and subject matter experts in the Department of Defense, academia, industry, and the public and private sector, helping us leverage an expanding technology base and remain at the forefront of our academic disciplines in the dynamically changing world.
CHAMPIONING INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL. Our Cadets and Faculty have unparalleled opportunities and resources to conduct research on and develop solutions to complex challenges facing our Army and society at large. Our dynamic and innovative research program builds upon and reinforces the intellectual capital generated in our classrooms and achieves far-reaching and long-lasting real-world impact. Their work champions our story.
