Biography


MAJ Marc Meybaum was born in Saratoga Springs, NY.  In 2012 he graduated from the United States Military Academy and received Bachelor of Science degree in Russian Language.  During his time as a cadet, MAJ Meybaum competed in the annual Sandhurst Competition and was the commander for Company G4.  In 2017, MAJ Meybaum graduated from Columbus State University with a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership.

MAJ Meybaum commissioned into the Armor branch, and was assigned to Fort Lewis, WA with the 8th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division.  There he served as a Scout Platoon Leader, UAS Platoon Leader, and Executive Officer from 2013-2016.  During that time, he deployed to Malaysia in support of the Pacific Pathways initiative.

After completing the Maneuver Captains Career Course and Cavalry Leaders Course in 2017,   MAJ Meybaum was assigned to 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division and served as the Squadron S4 and the Headquarters Troop Commander for the 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment until September 2019. MAJ Meybaum subsequently served as a Tank Company Commander in Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment from October 2019 to May 2020. During this time, he deployed on a rotational deployment to the Republic of Korea with 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.

MAJ Meybaum’s military education includes the Air Assault Course, Airborne Course, Armor Basic Officer Leader Course, Ranger School, Army Reconnaissance Course, Combatives Level I, Maneuver Captains Career Course, Cavalry Leaders Course, and the Maneuver Leaders Maintenance Course. 

MAJ Meybaum’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Ranger Tab, Air Assault Badge, and Parachutist Badge.

MAJ Meybaum married his wife, Meghann, in 2014.  They currently reside in Delmar, NY, with their six-year-old son, Michael, four-year-old son, Kristopher, and one-year-old daughter, Madelyn. MAJ Meybaum is currently an assistant professor and the executive officer for the Simon Center for the Professional Military Ethic.
