MAJ Alfred McDaniel

Battalion Tactical Officer



Major Alfred McDaniel is from San Antonio, TX. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2011. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In May 2020, CPT McDaniel graduated from Teachers College, Columbia University with a Master of Arts degree in Social-Organizational Psychology.

CPT McDaniel was commissioned into the Adjutant General Corps. Upon graduation, he was assigned to the United States Military Academy Preparatory at West Point, NY and served as an athletic graduate assistant. Next, he was assigned to Fort Hood, TX with the 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. There, he served as the Battalion Human Resources Officer (S1) from April 2012 to May 2015 and deployed to Afghanistan in Support of Operation Enduring Freedom as an advisor to the Afghanistan National Army.

After completing his initial tour at Fort Hood, CPT McDaniel completed the Adjutant General Captain Career Course (AGCCC) in October 2015. Following AGCCC, CPT McDaniel was assigned to Fort Bliss, TX with the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade and served as the Brigade S1 from November 2015 to October 2017. He then was assigned to Fort Stewart, GA with the 3rd Infantry Division and served as the G-1 Essential Personnel Services Branch Chief from November 2017 to April 2019. Subsequently, he returned to West Point, NY to attend the Eisenhower Leadership Development Program in May 2019.

CPT McDaniel is married to CPT Tiarra McDaniel who is currently serving as the Special Assistant to the Commandant for Honor at the United States Military Academy. They currently reside in Salisbury Mills, N.Y. with two daughters, Miracle and Milani.
