MAJ Cody Omilusik

Biography


Major Cody Omilusik commissioned as an Aviation Officer after graduating from the United States Military Academy in May 2011.

Major Omilusik graduated from flight school as an OH-58D Kiowa Warrior scout pilot in November 2012, then served as a Platoon Leader in Azrael Troop, 7-17 Cavalry Regiment in the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY until 2015.

Major Omilusik assessed and was selected to serve in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment in May 2015, and after completing “Green Platoon” served as a Platoon Leader in A/4-160th SOAR until 2018.

Major Omilusik commanded B/1-214th “Big Windy” in the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade in Katterbach, Germany from 2019 to May 2020.

Major Omilusik served as a Tactical Officer for company G3 (2020-2021) and is a graduate of the Eisenhower Leader Development Program (2022).

Major Omilusik earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Geography from the United States Military Academy in 2011 and a Master of Arts in Social-Organization Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2022.  Major Omilusik’s military education includes the Aviation Basic Officer Leader Course, Survive Evade Resist Escape (SERE-C) School, Rotary Wing Flight School, Air Assault School, 160th SOAR Green Platoon, Aviation Captain’s Career Course, and the Master Resiliency Trainer Course.

Major Omilusik is from Traverse City, MI and is married to Hannah Omilusik with two children, Lillian (5) and Tanner (3).
