Mr. Aaron Owens is the senior instructor in the Department of Natural Sciences at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School, West Point, New York.  He is from Charleston, South Carolina. Aaron obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Francis Marion University in South Carolina. He commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Ordnance Corp via ROTC. As a junior officer, he was stationed at Camp Humphreys, Korea serving as a platoon leader (PL) and executive officer (XO) in the 194th Maintenance Battalion. After Korea, he was assigned to Fort Polk, Louisiana where he served as a PL and Maintenance Control Officer in Maintenance Troop, RSS, 2ACR.  Aaron was Troop Commander, Maintenance Troop, 11 ACR at Fort Irwin, California.  After receiving his master’s degree in biology from Arkansas State University in 2008, he was selected to teach at the United States Military Academy. He was a General Chemistry Instructor and the Cell Biology Instructor and Course Director.  At Fort Carson, Colorado, Aaron served with the Security Force Assistance Team, Nangalam, Kunar Province, Afghanistan and retired from the Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington where he served as the Company Commander, 602nd BSC, 201st BfSB. Aaron has been a senior instructor at USMAPS since 2018.
