He attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, becoming a Combat Engineer (12B). His previous assignments and positions include a vehicle gunner to a Team Leader in the 23rd Engineer Company, 6th Engineer Battalion JBER, Alaska; Squad Leader with Charlie Company, 2 STB and 569 MAC, 4th Engineer Battalion, Fort Carson, CO; Drill Sergeant and Senior Drill Sergeant for Alpha and Bravo Company, 35th Engineer Battalion Fort Leonard Wood; RCP Platoon Sergeant, Operations Sergeant and First Sergeant of Brawler Troop, Regimental Engineer Squadron, 3d Cavalry Regiment, Fort Cavazos, USMA Tactical NCO for 2nd Regiment Echo Company, West Point, NY. SFC Tyerman completed two combat deployments to Afghanistan during OEF 10-1, OEF 12-13, and one tour to Kuwait during OEF 14 (Spartan Shield).
