LTC Charles A. Range is an instructor in the Department of English & World Languages at West Point. He is also the deputy director of the Center for Languages, Cultures, and Regional Studies and officer representative for the women's rugby team.
He commissioned into the field artillery in 2010 and completed the Field Artillery Basic Officer Leader Course and Paladin Commander’s Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. At Fort Moore, Georgia, MAJ Range served as fire direction officer and platoon leader in 1-10 Field Artillery, and as a fire support officer in 1-15 Infantry. After graduating from the Maneuver Captains Career Course, He commanded A Battery, 2-12 Field Artillery at Fort Carson, Colorado.
MAJ Range served as an exchange officer on the staff of the German Army Combat Training Center (Gefechtsübungszentrum des Heeres) in Letzlingen, Germany. He deployed to Camp Buehring, Kuwait, in 2012 and Kandahar, Afghanistan, in 2018. He was selected as a foreign area officer for the Middle East/North Africa region in 2020.
