There will be no classes on Oct. 14 in observance of Columbus Day. The federal holiday officially celebrates the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the Americas. The second Monday in October is also celebrated as Indigenous Peoples' Day to honor Indigenous Americans and commemorate their histories and cultures.
