Major Daniel Baughman graduated from the U. S. Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and German and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry branch in May 2012. 

MAJ Baughman served with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Irwin, California for his first assignment and later commanded Infantry Rifle Companies at Fort Campbell, Kentucky with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division and at Fort Myer, Virginia with the 3rd US Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard). His overseas service includes a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel in 2017. MAJ Baughman holds an MA in German from Georgetown university. 

He is a graduate of the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course and the Maneuver Captains Career Course. Major Baughman’s awards and decorations include the Expert Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Army Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal.
