MAJ Ermin Mujezinovic Instructor Instructor of Russian English and World Languages ermin.mujezinovic [at] westpoint.edu About Education Research & Publications MAJ Ermin Mujezinovic was born in Zenica, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. He immigrated to the United States in 2001 as a war refugee. Ermin earned a Master of Arts in Russian, Eurasian, and East European studies from Columbia University’s Harriman Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science with a minor in Spanish from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI). MAJ Mujezinovic commissioned as an Infantry officer and served at Fort Cavazos, TX, and Korea as a Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Battalion Adjutant Officer, and Assistant Operations Officer. In 2018, he became a Civil Affairs Officer, deployed to Germany, and served as a desk officer for eight countries in the Balkans. In 2020, during the COVID pandemic, MAJ Mujezinovic deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia as a Civil Affairs Team Leader. MAJ Mujezinovic is a former NCAA DI Cross Country and Track athlete at VMI who currently aims to complete all six major world marathons. So far, he has run Chicago in 2:35, the New York City Marathon in 2:46, and Boston in 2:38. He is racing the Berlin Marathon next month, intending to run under 2:30 at an average pace of 5:41 per mile. Last year, he won Cross Country National with the All-Army team, and this year, he has been selected by the All-Army Marathon team.
