LTC Jeff Scott is an instructor of military science in the Department of Military Instruction at the United States Military Academy. He also has directed the West Point Simulation Center since 2024.

He is a graduate of Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, where he commissioned as an air defense artillery officer in 2007.

After commissioning, LTC Scott reported to the 6-52 AMD Battalion at Fort Sill, Oklahom, and led through a deployment to the Republic of Korea as the fire control platoon leader and battery trainer. He returned from Korea in 2010 to attend the Air Defense Artillery Captains’ Career Course at Fort Sill

During his time in Oklahoma, he also earned a Master of Human Relations with a focus in organizational change and development from the University of Oklahoma.

LTC Scott was then selected to establish the first Army Air and Missile Defense Command (AAMDC) Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Officer (ADAFCO) and Upper Tier Coordination Element (UTCE) at the 94th AAMDC in the U.S. Air Force 613th Air and Space Operations Center at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and the U.S. Navy Commander 7th Fleet at Yokosuka, Japan.

During this assignment, he established foundational joint doctrine for the integration of Army, Navy, and Air Force systems in the joint and bilateral/multi-national integrated air and missile defense of defended areas throughout the Pacific region. While assigned to this billet, LTC Scott graduated from the Patriot Top Gun course and served as a key advisor to the commanding general in the first operational deployments of THAAD to Guam and the Republic of Korea.

He went on to command the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery for the 94th AAMDC, then finished his captain time as an assistant professor of military science at the University of Michigan.

LTC Scott is a graduate of the resident Command and General Staff Officer Course at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He designated into Functional Area 57, Modeling and Simulations.

At JBLM, LTC Scott was assigned to the 17th Field Artillery Brigade, where he served as the assistant S3 and provided a source of stability by building digital staff systems that enabled continuous operations forward throughout the Pacific and the deployment of the first Army Vaccine Task Force in the western United States in spite of the unique pandemic operational constraints.

After serving at the 17th FAB, he was selected to be the executive officer to the commanding general of the 7th Infantry Division (Lt. Gen. Stephen Smith) for 18 months, then remained in the command group as the secretary of the general staff and deputy chief of staff for another year.

LTC Scott then “fleeted up” to I Corps for a year, supporting America’s Corps through numerous simulations-driven Pacific Pathways exercises.

In 2024, he and his wife of 15 years, Michelle, and their two Army kids arrived at West Point. His family enjoys camping, water sports and are avid Cub Scouters.
