Mr. Joel A. Figueroa Jr. is a distinguished retired United States Army Veteran with a proven record of service and leadership.
At the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, Mr. Figueroa serves in a dual capacity as the IT Systems Manager and SIPR Laboratory Security Manager for the Department of Systems Engineering (DSE). In this role, he oversees and manages the department’s SIPR Laboratory and provides essential IT support to the academy's faculty, staff, cadets, and DSE computer labs.
Prior to joining the DSE, Mr. Figueroa served in multiple leadership roles as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) in the U.S. Army. His distinguished assignments included Afghanistan Projects NCOIC with the 160th Signal Brigade, Watch Officer with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), and interim J6 Senior Enlisted Advisor to a two-star General at US Forces Afghanistan. He also served as an Enterprise System Administrator and held key communication roles at USMA, including positions as the Information Management Officer (IMO) and Communications NCOIC to the Superintendent and General staff at West Point.
Mr. Figueroa attained several certifications in IT and cybersecurity, including CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), and EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA).
